Camp Mom

Where ya been, Wendy? Working hard on that novel? Not exactly. Why, I've been entertaining my daughters day and night, what else?

I did get some comments back on my WIP. LOTS of comments. But good ones, and I'm excited to read them. And get to work. Tonight. How's your WIP coming along?

It's coming along- I hit a wall at around 46,000 words, but I'm planning on reading back through the whole thing again today to try to jumpstart my brain. Sometimes I just have take a few days to step back and recharge. In the meantime, I've been dancing and pretending I'm being productive in other ways!

Dancing sounds fun. Much better than supervising 5 little girls who seem to be intent on splitting my eardrums with their squeals.

Good luck with your WIP.

I'm in the editing process. Like Colby, my WIP is short (55,000), but the books that are in line with mine are short (Bluest Eye, Catcher in the Rye).

The only difference, and it's a big difference, is that my WIP is not nearly as well-written as the two books mentioned above. But that's what the editing process is for, right?

Yup, I'm editing. Been feeling slumpy, questioning my talent. Or lack thereof. But I got some great feedback just today and it's boosted my morale. Yippee!

My WIP is hort, too, but my beta gave me some feedback which I think might beef it up in a few places. Still, it's not going to be epic.

Oh, shut it, Janna. You're a great writer -- I've read your work. And I say "shut it" in the nicest possible way.

Dang it. I hate typos. My WIP isn't "hort." I think you know what I mean.

My wip is moving along. I'm handwriting so I don't know how many words it is, and I kind of like that. I was so focused on numbers while writing my memoir that I'm enjoying not knowing this time.

I recently joined an online group that requires at least 100 words per day. It doesn't sound like much but it's really been the kick in the rear I needed.

As for feedback, I gave two betas my memoir at the end of January and I'm STILL waiting to hear from them. I've been in contact, they just say they've been busy. I'm thinking I need to find new crit partners...
