Kids in Playland

As some of you already know, I'm involved with a non-profit on the Upper East Side called Lenox Hill Neighborhood House. Last year alone, LHNH:

--helped 59 mentally ill women move from the Park Avenue Armory shelter to permanent housing
--educated 141 low-income children in their nationally acclaimed Early Childhood Center
--facilitated more than 14,000 trips to critical social, health, religious, and recreational programs for disabled older adult clients
--provided more than a million hours of home care for disabled and poor New Yorkers
--represented hundreds of clients in housing court
--served over 300,000 meals

They have an amazing staff that does truly amazing work.

If you happen to have a kid (or can borrow one) and live in New York, please come to our fundraiser KIDS IN PLAYLAND on Monday, May 18 from 4:00 to 6:30 pm. Carnival games, jumpy castles, face painting, magic shows, musical entertainment and more should keep them busy for the afternoon.

It's a great time!

What a great cause. If I lived there, I'd be front and center at the event. Best of luck!

What a great cause! I'm not sure if I've heard of it from you or elsewhere, but it sounds like they do wonderful work.

Good luck at the event!

Wendy, Good for you for helping to improve the world and making a difference. It's so true that all our little bits add up to a lot. Wish I could be there to join in the fun!

great boosting for LHNH! I worked at the Women's Shelter for almost 5 years when LHNH began its management! Always a good agency to support what with its broad array of programs. So many great programs and activities! I did a weekly, Friday am walk from the shelter to the CP zoo for the longest... what a time!
I couldnt afford to live in NYC though on social work pay. So I moved to Newark NJ. 2 to 2 1/2 hour each way commutes then exhausted me... so
but I still chat with former LHNH people and blessed to have had my time at LHNH!
thanks much again for your boosting!!!

I'm glad you stopped by! I'm a new-ish board member at LHNH and I've been involved with fundraising there for a number of years. It really is a great organization.
