I'm just not that into you

Goodbye, my current WIP. We had a thing between us, you and I, for a short while. A whirlwind romance. I even wrote three chapters of you in a frenzy of ideas. Your MC was a lot like Mick Kelly, and I loved spending time in her head.

But alas, it wasn't to be. You fizzled out, and your hook was just...well...inadequate, frankly. It didn't satisfy me. I don't think it could satisfy anyone. You couldn't quite figure out who you wanted to be. A story of racial tension? A family drama? Both were mediocre. And I've been thinking a lot lately about a completely different story. It's true. I'm sorry.

Au revoir, barely-started trunk novel.

Sounds like a mutual break-up?

This post was written well (very funny), but I felt sad afterwards. Breakups are a bitch. Even when you're just watching by the sidelines.

I'm projecting...I know.

Yes, it's sad.
But maybe one day our love will be rekindled, under different circumstances.

Aw, is so sad. Sometimes the breakup is inevitable though. I'm glad you ended it on good terms. Maybe one day, you'll find each other again.

You crack me up, Wendy. From the little you shared, it sounds like there's hidden potential there. Some relationships take longer than others to heat up!

Oh smart lady, better to cut bait than to keep fishing a dead spot! :)

You're braver than I am. I never quite admit to myself that a story is never going to make it. I always promise myself that I'll come back to it. Of course, I don't.

Good luck moving on. There are plenty of fish in the sea. :P

LOL! I'm with AC, breakups are difficult. I hang on forever. I've only broken up with one, and it still can't quite let go, LOL!

You never called, you never wrote! :-p

Good job on ditching it if you were really not feeling it. Perhaps it'll come back one day but it's nice to take your energy and focus it on something else you feel more passion for. Go for it!

All right, it was probably for the best. But still. Tough call.
