The guilt, it consumes me

So I have this cat. She's dying. I gave her to my husband for Valentine's Day 15 years ago. She's not exactly young and spry, and she's been in so-so health for quite a while now. The fact that she has untreatable kitty cancer wasn't a huge surprise. But sad.

I had a long talk with the vet and she urged us not to wait too long to put her down, as most people do when they can't let go. I've never had to do this before and I'm dreading having to make the final decision.

Anyway, bleh. What a downer. Sorry.

Maybe this video of a cute baby will make up for it. It made me laugh, anyway:

What do you think her mom is like? A little chatty, maybe?

Aw, sorry, losing a pet/family member (cause that's what they really are!) is never fun or easy. I have a doggie, and the guilt I have is the fact I've had children and he's gotten the really short end of the stick ever since. When it's his time, I'll feel so bad about the last years he got neglected and outstaged by the kids. Hang in there :(

Oh noes. I really hope it goes smoothly for you, Wendy. Warm thoughts and huggles.

Say, can we put that baby in the same room with my preschooler? They could jibber jabber with each other and I'd get so much done!

Oh, Wendy, I'm so sorry. That's such a hard decision.

That video, on the other hand, is hilarious. I feel like someone found secret video of me as a kid! (and I like Janna's idea, lol).

It's so hard. I think I should have had my cat put to sleep sooner than I did but I gave in to pressure from the rest of the family.

I really feel for you.

Sorry for your kitty. Our cat has been MIA for over a week now and we are very sad missing him.

Sympathies. I've had to put down a few pets in my life and its never easy, even if you know it'll end their suffering. *hugs*

But that baby was annoying as heck. Wow.

Never an easy decision. You want to hold on to them for as long a you can, but you know they are suffering. Give it a hug, a long heartfelt one and then, slowly let go. That's my advice. And cherish the years that it gave you.

Sending happy thoughts your way, Wendy. Totally feel for you. Have been in the same position a couple of times. Our pets are on loan to us, that's for sure. Good luck. Thanks for the video, though. Hilarious.

Oh Wendy, that breaks my heart. I don't know how to be that strong, but I suppose I will be.

Sending you lots of hugs...
