That's right. My kids are out of school now and, although they are doing a couple of planned activities here and there (most notably a week of Space Camp), most of the summer will be a lot of hanging out. And we all know what that means:
"Mooooo-ooom, what are we going to do today?"
Oh, I dunno, you can watch me write?
Yeah, they aren't so excited about that one.
Luckily, my manuscript is in wait mode at the moment, so I have loads of time to dedicate to my two little preciouses. Let's just review what we've done since school ended, shall we?
Strawberry picking
Jam-making
Tennis-playing
A Dave & Busters headache inducing lunch and arcade-ing
Times Square-tourist-dodging
Sag Harbor pier fried-clam-eating
Big Olaf ice cream-consuming while enormous yacht-watching
Beach frisbee-throwing and frigid wave-jumping
Lame, girly football-tossing
Dinner-grilling
Nature center-hiking
Shorts and t-shirt-shopping
Chase-around-the-yard-with-a-garden-hose spraying
Playground-visiting
Car-washing
Pool-swimming
Whew! I'm tired already. Did you notice any "time for mom" on that list? No, no, you did not. Oh well. Don't get me wrong--I'm not complaining.
How's your summer going? Any big plans?

I regularly visit your blog.
Keep on challenging!
i want fried clams.
So far, not too badly. Busy but not too busy. I'm getting married on July 1 though, so there's prep for that and the big BBQ celebration afterward.
yi--Thanks for visiting!
moonrat--I know a couple of great places for fried clams. Also, delicious Lobster Rolls. Yum!
April--Congrats and good luck!
Wow, school just ended the other day for us. I was just tired reading your list lol.
We will be going to the pool, playing board games, creating pizza and sundae nights, movie and yummy popcorn nights ect.
Enjoy your summer
You could always send your children to school in England. My daughter doesn't get out of school until
July 22! Have fun with them while you can though.
School ended this week for us too. Lucky we have sports camp in our neighbourhood. They enjoy it as they get to play sports and go on fun trips to the zoo and water slides. Afternoons are for relaxing...a stroll in the park is about as strenuous as it gets.
Thanks for the inspiration! I am a full-time working mum so every minute with the kiddie winks is precious! Our summer is nearly half over!
I love your blog and visit all the time!
