Nothing super exciting to report, really. My agent wanted some further revisions on a technical issue that required a bit of research. Some of the chapters are written from the point of view of a character who suspects she might be going insane. I had her a little *too* far over in Crazytown and needed to pull back a bit. Since most of her scenes take place in 1975, I also needed to research how people with these symptoms were treated by professionals before the advent of Prozac and everything that came after it. Luckily, a good friend of mine is a psychiatrist and I called her for advice. (Thanks, Gail!)
I just finished yesterday and sent it back.
So.
I wait.
How are things on your end?

Good news on your updated work on the ms. Spinning wheels here.
Spinning wheels sounds unfun. But at least the wheels haven't come off!
Thanks for the update! I was actually just coming to your blog to leave a comment asking how it's coming along.
Are you enjoying the editing process with someone who knows what she's talking about? I don't mean that as a bad thing against other readers, but I'm sure there's a marked difference between her observations as a professional in the industry and the rest of us. :P
I'm still editing. I'm hopeful I'll start querying this year.
The works never ends does it Wendy?
Good luck!
Melanie--Yes, it's great to get concrete ideas as to what she thinks will work (and sell). She also encourages me to email just to bounce ideas off her before I go ahead and write them. Have I mentioned that I love my agent?
ralfast--The work AND the worrying never ends!
Rebecca really is super fantastic, isn't she? I can't even begin to tell you how much she helped with my manuscript.
Oh, and I totally sympathize on the constant "How's the book?" thing. I mean, it's nice. It's really nice. But . . .
Glad to hear everything is going well.
I'm struggling with my WIP. The MC has my voice. And I hate to say it, but I'm quite irritating. :-)
Allie--She sure is.
ac--Ha! I don't find you irritating in the least.
Thanks for sharing your updates! Sounds like your agent had interesting comments and insight and how great that you had a friend that could help you get the research right!
