Home Again Home Again, Jiggety Jig

Ah, New York. How I have missed you. Despite the fact that you are crowded, and noisy, and sometime just a huge PITA, you are still all right with me.

If anyone would like to point and laugh at my feeble attempt at query writing, I've posted it for all to mock here on SYW. There's a reason they call it Query Hell, but hopefully a pretty polished query will rise up from the ashes.

Happy Tuesday, everyone.

Yay for home. I'm so excited to go back to Michigan. :)

I repped you a comment about your query. The suggestions I was going to make were already covered so I think you're well on your way. Good luck!

I haven't been to nyc for awhile, but have heard it's beautiful in the fall. Good luck with your query!

Best of luck on the query writing. I know how those can go. So far I've had success with one. Well I guess it wasn't really a query, more of a "here you go, is this one a better idea!"

Welcome back home!

Thanks for the well wishes! I'm still burning in Query Hell at the moment.

I can't view your query.

Something about "blah blah blah not having permission to access this page blah blah blah"....

I doesn't matter because I don't even know what a "query" is.

I'm sure yours is outstanding, though.

Wishing you much success in your writing endeavors.

Packsaddle:

It's on Absolute Write (a writer's forum) and I think you would need to register and give the password. It's all very hush-hush, say no more.

A query is a letter one sends to a potential agent, with a brief synopsis of the story. Sounds easy, right? But it needs to be exceedingly well written to get anyone's attention. Businessy but not too businessy, in a voice that matches your novel, with a compelling hook.

Fun.

I say "Home Again Home Again, Jiggety Jig" aallll the time and my hubby looks at me like I've just escaped from some asylum. Glad I'm not the only one :)

Good luck with the query :)
