Do you think any of your experience there, which seemed to really move you, influences your writing today? Not necessarily your storylines, but some underlying thread to your craft?Joannehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03972054718663959694noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5817248340630521543.post-36774088146197287532009-02-13T12:03:00.000-08:002009-02-13T12:03:00.000-08:00I'm with Janna- I want to hear all about this.I'm with Janna- I want to hear all about this.colbymarshallhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14056535503422186623noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5817248340630521543.post-59580570613298507832009-02-13T06:28:00.000-08:002009-02-13T06:28:00.000-08:00Amy--I think I'd probably have a different reactio...Amy--I think I'd probably have a different reaction as a tourist than a volunteer. On vacation, I'd be there for a completely different reason--to see the sights. Yes, I'd be exposed to the poverty, but I wouldn't have had to opportunity to see the humanity behind the awful surface. That's why I'm a little hesitant to go back with my family. The reason I loved India was because of the people who took me in.

And although Delhi was a big stinky city, sometimes, just around twilight when many people were cooking outside, the whole city smelled like spice.WendyCinNYChttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15548500219172368038noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5817248340630521543.post-73228656157844482242009-02-13T05:57:00.000-08:002009-02-13T05:57:00.000-08:00There's a special place in heaven for you. I'm embarrassed to say this, but I'm not sure I could handle the poverty and desperation. And my aunt couldn't shut up about the smells.Amyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06376258782520198445noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5817248340630521543.post-75109435207259445792009-02-12T07:46:00.001-08:002009-02-12T07:46:00.001-08:00This comment has been removed by the author.WendyCinNYChttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15548500219172368038noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5817248340630521543.post-44894805893163109972009-02-12T07:46:00.000-08:002009-02-12T07:46:00.000-08:00Janna--From all that I've heard and read, the whol...Janna--From all that I've heard and read, the whole country has changed so much since I was there 10 years ago.
